Travel not to escape life but for life not to escape us!
Halibut Point State Park
Halibut Point State Park is a uniquely beautiful coastal landscape. It contains 440 million-year-old granite sheets that now descend from a rocky headland to the tidal pools below.
Looking seaward on a clear day, you can see Mount Agamenticus, 81 miles away in Maine and to the south, the Isles of Shoals off New Hampshire’s coast. This is a beautiful park to explore the park’s trails and tide pools, picnic on the rocky ledges, and learn about Cape Ann’s granite industry’s history.
In addition to hiking and cross-country skiing are fishing and educational programs. Park at the trailhead and hike the shaded, well-marked trail around the quarry and discover Halibut Point’s rich history.
