In a yoga practice, Warrior II teaches us to root down and create a solid foundation while we expand and grow through the crown of the head, extending one arm out in front and the other stretching back.
By practicing this pose, we are learning to bring compassion, courage, and focus to the present moment.
The word warrior conjures up images of mighty battles and the quest for territory. Everyday people are warriors, too, overcoming obstacles in life, they discover inner strength by creating, breathwork, and deciding to act courageously by doing more of what they love.
A beautiful pose full of potential and self-love, as we stand in Warrior II, we are centered. Breathing in this pose, we discover how we might be able to choose love instead of fear in life’s circumstance. We witness external happenings while at the same time, fully feeling what’s going on inside, our energy evenly distributed, without judgment to self and others. It’s then we can then let go of what isn’t serving us, collecting what we need to move forward off of our mat and into life.
